ALEXANDRA

”It's a bit of an adventure!"

In 2018, Alexandra and her boyfriend decided to try something new and exciting; a change from their everyday lives in Budapest, so they both applied to study IT at the University of Copenhagen.

Five months later they were living in Blækhus. ”We’re so happy in Copenhagen. And Blækhus is a place where people are friendly and where you feel totally safe.”

28-year-old Alexandra originally studied and worked as an architect in Budapest, but curiosity and a longing to go abroad brought her to Denmark.

”We had heard so many good things about Denmark. It all moved really fast and we were both accepted into the study programmes that we applied for – Software Development for me and Digital Innovation for my boyfriend.”

“I hope that we’ll both get a job in Denmark when we finish our studies.”

What do you like most about Copenhagen?

You can cycle anywhere and cars are considerate of cyclists.

What kind of books do you read?

I read a lot of literature relevant to my studies, but I’m also
reading a book about Danish hygge. There are many books on
the topic.

What makes Blækhus special?

Nice communal spaces and so many great people. I’ve already made
lots of good friends.

As an IT student, what do you hope for?

What I dream about most is us all taking more responsibility for the environment.

What type of music do you listen to?

It changes all the time. Right now I’m listening to the band ‘Imagine Dragons’ a lot.
