Iben is a Copenhagen convert! Until she recently moved into Blækhus in
Valby to study at the Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design, Iben
could never imagine leaving Aarhus.
”I love Copenhagen, and I love my life in Blækhus. I miss my boyfriend and my good friends in Aarhus, but there’s just so much to do here.”
Iben really makes the most of what Copenhagen has to offer. She often goes to theatre shows, takes part in guided theatre tours and loves old sewing rooms like the one at the Royal Danish Theatre. She’s not a big night owl and, despite being a member of several nightclubs, mostly prefers sitting in a café or cosy pub with a handful of friends.
”I also really like Dyrehaven, North of Copenhagen. Up in Klampenborg. I love lying in the long grass at the Hermitage Hunting Lodge. And Frederiksberg gardens are so beautiful; I also go there a lot.”
Iben, who’s training to be a fashion designer, really enjoys living in her sky-high Blækhus apartment with the hundreds of square metres of rooftop terrace she has right outside her door!
What do you like most about Copenhagen?
There are so many different types of people, but everyone is the same in some way… regardless of skin colour, sexuality, or whatever. And that’s cool.
As a Fashion Design student, what do you hope for?
I dream of us all getting off social media and being TOGETHER instead.
What kind of music do you listen to?
I’m a bit old fashioned… I like musicals and music from films.

How do you see your life in 10 years?
Working as a designer in one of the big Parisian fashion houses, or having my own brand and living here in Copenhagen.
